Christians have been called upon to be beacons of hope, shining the light of Christ in the midst of darkness
The Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Ondo State chapter, Reverend father Anselm Olorunfemi Ologunwa stated this in his 2024 Christmas message
Speaking on the Theme: "Hope in the Lord amidst the corruption and injustice of our world today" Reverend Father Ologunwa implored Christians, Muslims, and adherents of other faiths not to lose hope as they were confronted with the harsh realities of corruption, injustice, and inequality
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I bring you warm greetings and felicitations on behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ondo State chapter.
In this season of joy and celebration, we are reminded of the hope that Jesus brings to our world.
In a message by the director, information and communications of CAN, Daisi Ajayi, the Chairman lamented that the world created in justice and by the wisdom of God, could with time, plagued by corruption, injustice, and darkness by created beings.
As a result of this war between the light and the darkness, this season reminds us of God's purpose of creating us all. Thus, as Christians, we are .
The Rev father Ologunwa said the salvation of the righteous came from the Lord who he described as the stronghold in times of trouble.
The Chairman urged Christians to cultivate the theological Christian virtues as they embarked on spiritual journey towards our creator
He enjoined Christians to uphold The virtue of Faith, hope and love by standing for the righteousness, even in the face of adversity.
We should hold on to the hope that Jesus brings. Hope that transcends the corruption and injustice of our world.
As demanded of us, demonstrate the love of Christ to those around you. Love that is patient, kind, and compassionate (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
Father Ologunwa charged the faithful to be people of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
He encouraged nigerians to endure the challenges and hardships that came their way, noting that with prayer, they would overcome the world.
We must remember that our Lord Jesus Christ endured the cross for our sake and won the race (Hebrews 12:2-3).
As they celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Rev father Ologunwa called for the reflection of the true meaning of Christmas which he described as love, mercy, and redemption that Jesus brought to the world.
The CAN Chairman also prayed that the season would induce harmonious relationship among Muslim brothers and sisters and adherents of other faiths, as the nation strives for peace, harmony, and understanding.
