The annual Christmas Jumble Sales of the Restoration Of The Dignity Of Womanhood (ROTDOW) for the year 2024 was yet another remarkable event as residents most especially the less privileged trooped out in large numbers to participate in the sales.
The early morning sales which took place along Oyemekun Road, Akure recorded large turnout of residents who freely strolled in to make last minutes preparation for the Christmas season.
The CEO, ROTDOW, Mrs. Olabisi Omolona who said the goal of the annual program is to ensure that even the less privileged get a chance to buy quality items at ridiculous prices affirmed that it is purely a not-for-profit venture.
According to her, many homes cannot afford clothing materials, shoes, bags and other household items and yearly looks forward to the event where they get the opportunity to buy choice items for a token.
While thanking all sponsors and partners on the project over the last 16 years, she said the season of Christmas is yet a time to share love to one another most especially the less privileged in the society.
She also used the opportunity to call on well meaning Nigerians to endeavour to support such initiatives as many homes are facing hard times bearing the economic hardship in the country.
Some of the items on sale include clothing materials, ready made wears, bags, corporate wears, gown, shoes, pressure pots, other household items among others.
Some of the residents who spoke in a chat with topshotnews, applauded ROTDOW for yearly putting smiles on their faces saying it is a timely intervention that will go a long way in bringing succour to their homes.
