...ratifies Pastor Ebenezer Akintomide as New State President of Ondo NAPPS
A new state leadership has emerged for National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Ondo State to complete the running tenure of Rev. Joseph Aderanti Gabriel who was unanimously removed from office as delegates across 15 local government out of 18LGAs of the state met on Tuesday, 21st January, 2025 in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The decision to ratify the new officers is in line with the 2017 NAPPS Constitution which supports the notion of no vacuum in leadership.
After report of the Disciplinary/Reconciliatory Committee headed by Chief (Engr.) Anthony Adeniken was read and adopted by Comrade Raji Sikiru and seconded by Pastor Oladapo David from Owo, Pastor Ebenezer Akintomide was ratified as the new state president.
Other state executive positions filled include that of the Vice Chairman now occupied by Comrade Martins Omotunde. While the position of Treasurer and State PRO is occupied by Mr. Frankin Akinbami and Comrade Olotu Vincent respectively.
Addressing members, NAPPS South West President, Comrade Deji Olatona applauded the efforts of past leaders and elders in building and upholding the integrity of the association.
He said posterity will judge those who deliberately sabotage efforts to build a vibrant state chapter just as he urged all members to conduct themselves in the fear of God.
He also urged members to support the new leadership to succeed in their new assignment.
Some of the elders who spoke appreciated the National South West President for finding time to personally be in the state to witness the historic event
One of them, Prof. Monebi particularly restated the need for members to carefully pick those that represent their interest noting that power should not be arbitrarily deployed for personal interest.
He said it was morally wrong to want to manipulate existing laws to perpetuate self in office.
The climax of the event however is the ratification of the new officers alongside other state officers.
Responding shortly after his inauguration as new State President, Pastor Ebenezer Akintomide appreciated all the elders and members of NAPPS for their unwavering supports and for upholding the tenets of 2017 NAPPS constitution in the state.
He further pledged to work tirelessly and pursue selflessly the overall interest of members in the state just as he called for the cooperation of all local government executives in the drive to take the associates to an enviable height.
