The Special Adviser to Ondo State Govenor on Union Matters & Special Duties, Comrade Bola Taiwo has charged all Okada Riders operating in the state to remain law abiding and go about their daily business as the government do not intend to witch-hunt or make life impossible for them as responsible citizens.
He made the assertion today when he met with the riders and local government representatives across the 3 senatorial districts in his office.
Comrade Taiwo while charging them to give peace a chance in their respective communities noted that Govenor Aiyedatiwa is a peace loving Govenor who remains committed to ensuring fairness and transparency in revenue collection.
According to him, the government has brought in innovation to aid ease of operation with the appointment of 3 individuals who will serve as leaders in each district.
"If you have any problem, all you need to do is to reach out to your leaders. They will step in immediately and hand over to the respective DPOs. It will no longer be a one man show when you all have to reach out to just one person but now, you have your leaders and you know who to call".
He said the government is not going to chase anyone from working but that those who refuse to remit, will ultimately be dealt with.
Particularly stressing the benefit of revenue generation in the state, Comrade Taiwo noted that it must be taken seriously as government depends on it to meet certain expectations of the people.
"Govenor Aiyedatiwa is in a hurry to deliver and on our part, we 'll deliver as the allocation coming into the state cannot address all of the state's need", he further stressed.
Some of the local government representatives of the Okada riders in their various contributions affirmed their readiness to work and abide by all that is expected of them.
In a chat shortly after the meeting, Dr. Bayo Olatunji, the south senatorial district leader said he will put in his best and organize those operating in his district most especially in ensuring that state ticketing is well distributed and that riders enjoy peaceful and harmonious working environment.
